Overview
Evaluates program and project requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System. Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates, identifies robotics, automation or technology recommendations and system integration for equipment and tooling. Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements. Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares. Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel. Develops and implements work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation. Performs studies and make recommendation for disposition of assets.
Responsibilities

Compile and analyze technical data to determine effects on product engineering design and rate estimates, identify robotics, automation or technology recommendations and system integration for equipment and tooling.
Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
Validate contractual performance milestones, maintain configuration control, conduct reviews, and prepare plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.
Conduct training for Production and Maintenance personnel.
Develop and implement work-arounds and maintain configuration of hardware, software and documentation.
Perform studies and make recommendations for disposition of assets.
Requirements
Experience in tool engineering or design engineering
Tooling drawings
Modeling in a 3D environment
5 years of tool engineering experience
Preferred: experience with Catia and Creo
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) with typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is preferred but not required
Other combinations may apply (e.g., Bachelor with 9+ years, PhD+4 years, Master+7 years, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).
