Role Summary
The Tubman Law Clerk assists the legal department with family law and order for protection cases, including screening prospective legal clients, drafting pleadings, trial preparation, legal research and writing. This position is based in Minneapolis. Impact & Benefits

Complete client intake screenings Assist staff attorneys with trial preparation and drafting pleadings Assist staff attorneys with legal research and writing Collaborate and communicate with legal team to complete other assigned tasks Qualifications & Expectations
Position Qualifications
Rising 2L or 3L law student or recent law graduate Demonstrated interest in domestic and family violence and the impact of trauma preferred. Demonstrated ability to conduct competent legal research and writing Experience or interest in litigation Ability and willingness to listen actively and respond appropriately to clients Ability to work with diverse teams and clients to foster a culturally inclusive environment Ability to work under pressure and to maintain confidentiality Supervision & Training
School year: 10-20 hours/ week with a full academic year commitment (Training begins August 16, 2025) Attend Tubman’s five-part Volunteer/Intern Orientation and Training series The Law Clerk is supervised by Tubman’s Managing Attorney
