Assists with bedside collection of fine needle aspiration biopsy specimens (FNA) and prepares glass slides from cytologic specimens for subsequent microscopic evaluation using a variety of techniques (direct smear, thinlayer, cytospin, cell block). Performs multiple staining techniques. Operates and maintains laboratory equipment. This position performs routine laboratory testing, quality control testing, general and instrument maintenance, calling of critical and questionable results to appropriate providers, and resulting of test using laboratory information systems.

Additionally, this role performs general troubleshooting of instrumentation, communicating technical information to appropriate persons.**Additional Job Description**Education:

Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences including 24 semester hours of science courses that include 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of any combination of chemical or biological sciences.
