Pay Range: $76.35 - $113.76 per hour

Summary
The Associate Vice President-Nursing of the Rush System for Health is a member of the Cancer Service Line executive leadership team that establishes and executes strategy and operational plans supporting Cancer Services across the Rush System for Health. The role has responsibility for all cancer sites and services, maintaining operations, excellent patient care through exemplary nursing practice, workforce stability, compliance and fiscal stewardship. The individual exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic: Actively develop, implement and advance nursing strategies aligning with the Rush System for Health and cancer service line strategic plan. Participate in strategic planning, policy formulation and problem solving as a member of the Nursing Executive Council and Cancer Service Line Leadership. Translate the service line vision into measurable goals and sustainable programs. Identify opportunities and implement systems to improve value of care and services to patients and families. Advance care delivery models emphasizing top‑of‑scope practice for nursing, APNs and standardized scope for non‑licensed personnel, guided by state licensure and industry standards. Ensure efficient team approach to care, emphasizing value for cancer population health. Support joint ventures, partnerships and growth initiatives while maximizing standardization across the Rush system. Lead and execute clinical and nursing practice alignment within joint ventures and partnerships. Lead evaluation, selection and integration of healthcare technology and information management systems supporting patient care needs. Represent the CNE and Cancer Service Line on committees, ensuring collaboration with clinical enterprise‑wide groups. Identify and support community outreach, philanthropy and marketing initiatives enhancing new business or research opportunities. Contribute to the advancement of nursing through professional research and scholarly activities. Advance vision, direction and leadership for patient care and nursing practice across the cancer service line. Collaborate across the Rush System to facilitate excellence in all settings where cancer services are provided. Collaborate with the Nursing Executive Team, Chief Nursing Officers, Rush System leadership and the Rush University College of Nursing faculty in research and educational activities. Execute, in collaboration with system nursing leaders, the work of cancer nursing across the system through the developed cancer nursing councilor structure. Collaborate with service line leadership to provide vision, direction, leadership and support to the service line nursing staff. Promote the highest standards of nursing practice across all settings and clinical sites in the Rush system cancer service line, including direct practice‑based care, management of telephone triage, tele‑health or e‑health communications, nurse‑managed clinics, community support services, care coordination and transitions of care. Act as a change agent and manage service line change efforts to ensure operational effectiveness. Promote, empower and maximize professional governance structure and demonstrable outcomes in patient care across the cancer service line. Direct oversight of all nursing operations, fiscal efficiency and staff across the Rush system cancer service line. Lead program planning, implementation and evaluation efforts for areas of responsibility at strategic and tactical levels. Lead design, implementation and evaluation of process improvement initiatives for nursing cancer services at the system level. Integrate and advance nursing services and models of care across the continuum in the Rush system cancer service line. Advance development and implementation of innovation, research, evidence‑based practice, quality and safety initiatives in nursing across the cancer service line. Maintain an environment that promotes patient safety, high reliability of processes and quality outcomes. Lead consistent, ongoing regulatory and accreditation readiness. Assure efficiencies in nursing staffing and resource utilization by comparing internal and external benchmarks as measured by internal and external productivity measures for responsibility. Requirements
MSN required, Doctorate preferred. Expertise and progressive experience in management and/or nursing management 7‑10 years preferred. Ability to design complex clinical or administrative systems or programs. Established reputation as a nursing leader.
