Pestie is looking for an Accounting Manager who will play a critical role in supporting our finance operations and ensuring day-to-day accounting runs smoothly. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and forward-thinking, with a proven track record in accounting operations. This role reports directly to the CFO with a clear growth path to Controller for the right candidate. What you\'ll do

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Support the month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Assist the CFO and outsourced Controller with annual financial audits and ensure GAAP compliance.
  • Maintain internal controls and recommend improvements to strengthen accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and other teams to ensure accurate reporting of financial activity.
  • Assist with tax filings and compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Provide financial insights and reporting to the CFO and executive team in a clear, actionable way.
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA and/or MAcc preferred.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years in a management or senior-level role.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices.
  • Experience managing month-end close, reconciliations, and audits.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
