Summary

The Manager - Accounting directs the accounting, reporting, and planning activities of multiple plants within the Siding & Trim business. This position interacts regularly with business and operations heads and oversees the monthly accounting close. The role manages a team of 5 reports.

Responsibilities

1. Manage accounting and financial reporting for multiple plants, ensuring compliance with company policies.
2. Ensure timely and accurate financial statements monthly, quarterly, and annually.
3. Analyze operational and financial results, producing reports for management.
4. Maintain inventory costing accuracy and oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
5. Collaborate with plant operations to maintain standard costs.
6. Work with shared services for AR and AP management.
7. Enforce SOX compliance and prepare regulatory filings.
8. Improve departmental processes for efficiency.
9. Coordinate with auditors and provide necessary data.
10. Lead and develop the finance team, aligning goals with company strategies.
11. Stay current with accounting standards and trends.
12. Identify and implement performance and process improvements.
13. Assist HR activities related to employee management.
14. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

1. B.S. in Accounting or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
2. 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
3. Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
4. Experience with ERP systems like SAP and JDE.
5. Proficient in Excel and other spreadsheet tools.
6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
7. Ability to lead teams and meet deadlines.

Physical & Work Environment

Office-based with occasional work in operational units requiring PPE. Travel up to 20% may be required.
