The Department of Political and Global Affairs at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in American politics at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026.
The department is searching for a dynamic teacher and emerging researcher who can contribute to American politics courses across multiple concentrations in our department. Applicants should be able to teach lower and upper division courses in American politics, such as the presidency, Congress, political parties, and public opinion. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and advising, professional research, and service.

Salary
The salary is commensurate with education and experience.
Required Education
A terminal degree in political science is required by the appointment date.
Job Summary/Basic Function
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and advising students, conducting research, and providing service to the department and university.
