STARTING PAY:
$15.15 per hour
SUMMARY
This position performs general custodial duties such as floor care, sweeping, dusting, mopping, glass cleaning, restroom cleaning, and all other building care as assigned. Assists in the implementation of training of other custodial services personnel. Shares in overseeing custodial crew in the absence of Custodian III. This position will be required to work shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays and during inclement weather. This position is considered weather essential personnel.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Requires a High School Diploma or its equivalent and proven supervisory skills (education, background or combination thereof). Requires 2-3 years of custodial experience. Valid Texas Driver's License required.

- Strips, waxes, and spray buffs the floors.
- Sweeps, dust mops, and wet mops the floors.
- Vacuums carpets.
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms.
- Empties and cleans waste receptacles and disposes of trash.
- Dusts furniture, walls, and fixtures.
- Cleans glass doors, windows, display cases, desk tops, and telephones.
- Replaces light bulbs and cleans lighting fixtures.
- Handles cleaning chemicals responsibly and protects area for safety.
- Assists in training other custodial staff.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
- Ability to write legibly and coherently.
- Ability to operate or use a maid cart with all types of cleaning supplies, mops, brooms, dust mops, and glass cleaning equipment, buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaning machines, powered sweeper/scrubber, City vehicle and all other equipment necessary to perform assigned duties.
- Ability to safely operate a City vehicle.
