SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, this position is responsible for safe and timely execution of a variety of machine repairs and building and ground maintenance of all plant locations. Accountable for being self-motivated while producing high quality work at an efficient rate in cooperation with all department Associates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Troubleshoot and repair of hand tools and machinery assigned by Supervisor throughout all plant locations.
  • Assist Maintenance associates as assigned with preventative maintenance.
    • Requisitioning of machine parts and maintenance supplies.
    • Clean machinery as required.
    • Removal of ice and snow, as necessary.
    • Responsible for ground maintenance including lawns, painting, outside lighting of parking lots, and sprinkler systems.
    • Keep preventative maintenance on schedule and recorded.
    • Responsible and accountable for quality of work at an efficient rate within a reasonable time frame upon assignment.
    • Must wear safety glasses and steel toed work boots during working hours.
    • Will attend required safety training and be licensed to utilize fork trucks, and platform lift by Company.
    • Help maintain all Company safety regulations to provide a clean, accident free and healthy work environment. Report all injuries safety violations, incidents of hazards immediately to Supervisor.
    • Confers with the Supervisor on any problems regarding safety, quality, production, or inventory issues.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

- Minimum of seven (7) years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

- Working knowledge of computers so record work orders, check e-mail and research items on internet.

- Experience leading or modification, technical specifications and implementation of major and minor equipment changes.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret the English language.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must possess basic math skills. Ability to interpret and read blueprints and drawings.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with the variety of situations in repair and maintenance of tools and machinery. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or work order form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Agility of the upper and lower body extremities and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work assigned will be both inside and outside of Company facilities. May require hearing protection in designated areas.
