Job Description And Duties

Are you looking for a job that highlights your customer service skills and rewards collaboration? Then come join the Operations Services Support Section (OSSS) and start your career as an analyst. OSSS provides support to internal and external users of the Department of Justice’s Applicant Agency Justice Connection (AAJC) portal, where state agencies and organizations retrieve their fingerprint-based criminal history background checks on their prospective employees, volunteers, or licensees. As an OSSS Business Analyst you will become a subject matter expert on the AAJC portal and work closely with our information technology (IT) developers on its operation and enhancement. This meaningful work provides access to, and protects storage of, criminal history background checks.

Working with other OSSS Business Analysts and program teams on system modernization and continuous process-improvement projects, you will formulate business requirements and liaise with IT teams to ensure proper implementation of system changes. Bring your eye for detail and shape future system improvements that protect public safety through ensuring critical access to criminal offender record information!

Department Information: This position is located in the California Justice Information Services Division, Bureau of Criminal Information and Analysis, Applicant and Record Quality Services Branch, Authorization and Certification Program, Operations Services Support Section.

Additional Salary Information: This classification contains multiple salary ranges. New-to-State employees will be given the minimum salary of Range A, unless you meet Alternate Range Criteria 200-299. For current state employees and/or those with reinstatement rights, your salary will be determined in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Personal Leave Program: Effective July 1, 2025, state employees are subject to temporary wage reductions in exchange for Personal Leave Program (PLP) accruals. The specific rate and hours earned were negotiated and agreed upon by each bargaining unit. The actual monetary impact of these temporary reductions can vary based on your bargaining unit and/or federal and state tax withholdings.
