Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards at our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment for all employees and visitors, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning of production areas, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors using appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions.

  • Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and ensure proper disposal.

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and floors.

  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when restocking is needed.

  • Clean and maintain janitorial equipment and storage areas.

  • Respond promptly to spills, leaks, or other sanitation-related hazards.

  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Assist with minor maintenance tasks as needed (e.g., changing light bulbs, replacing air filters).

  • Support plant cleanliness during audits and inspections.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous janitorial or custodial experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.

  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Technical School preferred but not required.

Work Environment

The facility is a medium-sized operation with 60 employees. It is involved in fabrication, welding, wiring, and assembly from start to finish. The environment is very clean, new, modernly designed, and maintains comfortable temperatures for working.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Charles, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
