Connor Group is hiring remote professionals for this position, with the obligation to work onsite at a client location when required. Professionals may utilize our offices across the U.S. if one is available in your area and your personal situation warrants it.

Connor Group is a specialized professional services firm made up of Big 4 alumni and industry executives. Our team assists financial executives with their most complex business needs, including Accounting Advisory, Financial Operations, IPO, M&A, and Managed Services. We execute finance projects that add value to clients within their finance, accounting, and operations departments, from complex technical accounting and financial reporting issues to finance software implementation and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Add value through complex transactions including IPOs, SPACs, M&A, and divestitures.
  • Assist clients to successfully prepare and complete audits.
  • Understand and assist with technical topics and financial reporting areas, including but not limited to:
  • Revenue recognition
  • Stock-based compensation
  • Leases
  • Fixed assets
  • Accrued expenses and other liabilities
  • Financial statement preparation
  • Account reconciliations and cut-off
  • Income statement classification and allocation
  • SEC reporting
  • Quarterization
  • Detailed revenue analysis and revenue recognition
  • Assist in drafting or reviewing complex sets of financial statements with disclosures
  • Assist in SEC Reporting, including 10K, 10Q and other filings
  • Identify and apply technical accounting guidance to client situations
  • Identify, analyze, and discuss GAAP issues on client projects with the Manager, Senior Manager and engagement partner
  • Identify complex accounting issues and bring them to engagement leaders for resolution

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of prior experience in public accounting or relevant industry role
  • CPA preferred or actively pursuing certification
  • Ability to take responsibility for own work
  • Hard-working, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
  • Ability to work well in a team atmosphere
  • Professional and personable demeanor
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for helping clients with a strong interest in technical accounting
  • Aptitude for technical accounting research and self-education, with a desire to learn and become an expert
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills
  • Some travel may be expected (about 10%)
