The College of Medicine, Department of Neurology & Rehabilitation Medicine is seeking a full-time Business Manager reporting directly to the Executive Director Business and Administration/Vice Chair - Operations and Finance.
Business Managers typically have direct supervisory responsibilities of a unit or multiple units, in addition to major management responsibilities for a wide range of projects/tasks associated with primary business operations, academic, or student services. Responsibilities include day-to-day administration of specialized activities related to a business office and reports to management, provide recommendations and advice to management or other groups on process related topics and conduct or carry out work procedures and activities in accordance with local, state, federal, and university regulations. This position may offer flexibility for a hybrid work option for applicants with a residence within the Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana Tri-State area once training is complete. Hybrid work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.
Assist in the management of the financial, administrative, and operational activities of a business unit with a considerable income generation component.
Coordinate budget preparation and may monitor grants and contracts.
Coordinate personnel functions for an operating unit.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
Serves as a seasoned and proficient professional.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Three (3) years of financial and administrative experience.
Master's trained candidate in Business Administration, Health Administration or Public Health Administration.
Prior experience in the following fields is ideal: Health care administration, Accounting/Revenue cycle, Physician practice management.
Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
