Job Overview As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience, is recruiting for a full-time psychologist (clinical-track) to provide outpatient services for our growing department at the Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor level. The Department is dedicated to excellence in patient care, high quality trainee education and is also committed to advancing the science of psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences through clinical trials and ongoing collaborative research. The rank of the appointment is open and will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant. This faculty position will provide evidence-based mental health care to a variety of patient needs in the ambulatory psychiatric clinic with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience. The Department is nationally recognized as a leader in advancing the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral disorders. The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience provides psychotherapy services to adults, adolescents, children, couples and families who are experiencing emotional difficulties due to stress, behavioral problems, grief or a variety of other life events. We provide evaluation and diagnosis for each patient, along with treatment that can include psychological testing, psychotherapy, psychopharmacology management and other various treatment options based on each individual's unique situation. - Responsibilities will include direct patient care and may include teaching of graduate students and research/ academic work in a variety of mental health specialties.
- The psychologist will offer evaluation and treatment of individuals seeking mental health care in a variety of mental health diagnoses, including, but not limited to, mood and anxiety disorders, behavioral disorders, trauma-related disorders, sleep disturbances, sexual health, marital or relationship issues, problems secondary to medical diagnoses, and will be expected to offer individual, couples and group therapy.
