Xometry . Xometry is adding a Sr. Data Scientist to our sourcing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for using machine learning tools and techniques to construct, optimize, and evaluate predictive models that forecast various business outcomes. Responsibilities include developing effective predictive models using data science and machine learning principles, writing software to prepare, clean, and sample data, utilizing cloud resources (e.g., Amazon Web Services), querying and extracting data from databases (Snowflake), and employing data analysis and visualization tools (such as SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and Looker) to inform business strategy. The role requires relentless iteration within a fast-paced environment, solving challenging and uncharted problems, and thriving in a team-oriented, continuous learning environment. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in applied math, computer science, natural sciences, or engineering), with a Master’s or Ph.D. highly desired. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, and optimization techniques, fluency in Python (pandas, numpy, SciPy, scikit-learn), proficiency in linear algebra and statistics, familiarity with scientific software principles, and experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
