Description $74,672 to $112,008 per year Shields Point, LLC has a dynamic opportunity for an Armed Security Facility Commander in support of the Department of Transportation Armed Security Contract located in Washington, D.C. The Armed Security Facility Commander has full authority to act on all contract matters in the Project/Deputy Manager’s absence. This role requires a leader with demonstrated law enforcement or security experience in managing Armed Security Force and is adept at interacting with government personnel and ensuring compliance with the contract statement of work. This job posting is for two separate positions at two separate Washington, D.C. locations (DOT HQ and FAA Facilities). This opportunity is contingent upon contract award. Consideration may require a signed letter of intent. If awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal. Job Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the Senior Contractor representative at the Department of Transportation Headquarters, FAA Orville Wright, FAA Wilbur Wright Facilities, with full authority to act for the contractor in the absence of the Project Manager (PM) or Deputy Project Manager (DPM). Oversee performance at the assigned building Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays, ensuring compliance with Federal Protective Service (FPS) A-9 standards. Enforce contract requirements, including scheduling, training, uniform and grooming standards, post orders and inspections, access control, visitor processing, screening, security checks, patrols, and emergency responses. Serve as a point of contact with government, supervisors, and customers. Maintain accurate logs, records, and support quality control inspections and contract compliance. Track employees’ licenses, training, and certifications. Manage armed security weapons procedures and storage requirements on federal property. Ensure responsive, customer-focused services through direct communication internally and externally. Requirements U.S. Citizen. Active Public Trust Tier 2 Security Clearance. FPS A-9 Armed Contract Security Officer (ACSO) certification and supervisory training. Complete medical exams, physical abilities tests, and drug screenings as required. Minimum 5 years’ experience in law enforcement or security, with 3 years in a supervisory role (must be detailed in resume). 2 years of college or substantial law enforcement, military, or management experience. Ability to supervise over 20 Armed Guards. Fluent in English (reading, speaking, comprehension). Good communication skills to articulate complex concepts. Provide 3 professional references demonstrating experience managing large-scale security operations. Seniority level
