Mid-Level Litigation Associate

to join a premier, mid-size California-based law firm in its

San Diego office on a full-time, permanent basis . This is a unique opportunity for a driven associate to take on meaningful responsibility in complex business disputes spanning a wide range of industries, such as employment, entertainment, real estate, and more. This firm’s mid-size structure means no “cogs in the wheel” in that associates work shoulder-to-shoulder with nationally recognized trial lawyers and are given genuine opportunities to develop their skills and advance toward partnership. This is a hybrid role (3 days per week in-office). Key Responsibilities: Case Workup : Ownership of all phases of commercial litigation, from fact investigation to final resolution. Drafting & Advocacy : Prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses, argue motions and attend court hearings. Client Engagement : Serve as the direct point of contact for both corporate and individual clients. Depositions & Trial : Conduct and defend depositions, assist with trial preparation, strategy sessions, and take active role in trials and other proceedings. Team Collaboration : Work closely with partners and junior attorneys on case strategy and execution; help mentor more junior team members. Business Mindset : Contribute to firm growth by collaborating with marketing and business development professionals to build a sustainable client pipeline. Ideal Candidate Profile: 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in employment, intellectual property, real estate, and construction. Demonstrated experience in all aspects of litigation, including motion practice, depositions, expert discovery, written discovery, trial prep and trial Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills. Proactive, collaborative mindset with the confidence to take initiative and drive matters forward. Excellent academic background. Position Details for the Mid-Level Litigation Associate (Permanent): Type of Role: Permanent Schedule: Full-Time Compensation : Pay: The salary range for this role is $230,000 - $305,000, plus applicable bonuses. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials.
