Responsibilities
Performs diverse, specialized and complex work involving significant accountability and decision-making responsibility Designs new automated and semi-automated material handling systems and proposes modifications to existing equipment; customizes standard designs based on customer specifications and scope documents Creates description of operation documents to ensure designs meet customer expectations Creates approval, permit, installation, and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD/Revit Obtains material and product quotes from vendors and issues purchase orders and estimates costs Monitors the project schedule, engineering time line, and material costs Works with other disciplines on project team to make sure engineered solution and all equipment fit within system confines and constraints Leads and directs the work of less-senior project engineers and designers Domestic travel up to 30% in North America, mostly within the Continental United States.
Qualifications
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering design and project execution preferably in the material handling industry Proficient in AutoCAD/Revit; working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, SharePoint and Visio Ability to speak Japanese is a plus Ability to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced results-oriented environment Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers, vendors, consulting engineers, architects, and installers Ability to lead work teams and projects effectively Strong verbal and written communication skills Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills Team-oriented and collaborative Self-motivated and detail-oriented Ability to learn new technology
