Job Description:
The Database Administrator is responsible for designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise-level database systems to ensure performance, availability, and security. The role involves working collaboratively with development and IT teams, managing data integrations, supporting applications, and participating in disaster recovery planning. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills in database systems, automation, performance tuning, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities:
Design, install, configure, and maintain enterprise-level database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle). Monitor database performance, optimize queries and indexes, and manage storage resources. Ensure data integrity, security, backup, and recovery in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain database architecture documentation, standards, and procedures. Lead database migrations, upgrades, and consolidation initiatives. Collaborate with developers, analysts, and IT staff for application development and data integration. Support application environments including IIS configuration for security and performance. Automate tasks using scripting tools such as PowerShell or cron jobs. Manage network-related database demands and ensure compliance with state regulatory standards. Participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery testing and development Ensure adherence to data governance and privacy regulations. Provide 24/7 support for mission-critical database systems as needed. Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft SQL. Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux/Unix environments. Scripting skills (e.g., Shell, PowerShell). Experience with backup and recovery tools. Strong performance tuning and query optimization skills. Knowledge of database security, access controls, encryption, and auditing. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and documentation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform under pressure. Strong collaboration and leadership capabilities. Should Have:
Experience with .NET programming languages (e.g., C#). Experience with network firewalls. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Experience with Power Platform tools (PowerApps, Power BI Services, Power Automate). Qualification And Education:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Microsoft SQL Server (preferred).
