Mid-Level Back-End Software Application Developer
LMI is actively seeking a dynamic, experienced Mid-Level Back-End Developer with a strong background in modern back-end technologies. This role involves translating design concepts into responsive, high-performance software applications. This position can be located in Colorado Springs, CO or the Northern VA metro area. Responsibilities Develop and maintain server-side logic by writing code that powers the application's functionality, handles user requests, and manages data. Create APIs that allow different parts of the application, or different applications, to communicate with each other. Design database schemas, write queries, and ensure data integrity and security. Ensure the application can handle a growing number of users and data efficiently. Work closely with front-end developers to integrate the back-end functionality with the user interface. Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access. Participate in code reviews, debug developed code, and stay current with software development trends. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop reusable code components, and ensure application accessibility. Actively participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and other engineering working groups to review, assess, and mature engineering artifacts such as CONOPs, system architecture, behavior, interfaces, functional allocation, ICDs, and data models. Provide meeting coordination, technical expertise, and software development support to assist customer decision makers. Qualifications Required: B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. 5 - 7 years experience as a Back-End Developer with a portfolio, proficiency in modern object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, Node.js, or Ruby. Experience with SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases. Familiarity with back-end frameworks like Django, Flask, Spring, or Express.js. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Experience with efficient data storage and retrieval. Strong understanding of modern design and coding principles. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Knowledge of software performance optimization. Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Experience with testing frameworks. Knowledge of security practices. Active TS/SCI clearance. Candidate must be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. Target salary range: $99,000 - $171,000. Final compensation will be determined by skills, experience, education, and certifications.
