This position directs media relations, marketing, web communications, social media, and digital media for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) and UI Extension. It facilitates key operations and strategic priorities and initiatives. As the primary communication representative for CALS, this position is the chief content strategist for marketing and communications to support CALS's reputation and positioning. The director serves as a leadership team member of the college. Responsibilities include: Providing marketing leadership in areas such as alumni relations, web content, media/public relations, and publications Leading, managing, and assessing key operations and strategic initiatives for CALS Advancing CALS initiatives through purposeful messaging aligned with the university’s brand and strategic goals Advising the dean and departments on marketing strategies Supervising the Marketing and Communications Team and Alumni Events Identifying and prioritizing strategic initiatives to meet CALS objectives Performing other duties as assigned Required Experience
Five years in marketing or brand development Two years of supervisory experience Experience using web and social media platforms for marketing Project management experience Event planning experience Proficiency with computer software for word processing, email, internet searches, and data organization Additional Details
