About The Role
The Application Engineer - Motors is the primary technical resource for all orders concerning low voltage motors and is responsible for actively driving and managing the technical aspect of the order process. Primary Responsibilities
Communicate effectively with Field Sales, Customers, engineering group, and factories. Compile and prepare accurate proposals for customers based on specifications, emails, phone calls, etc. Provide technical and commercial training and mentoring to junior team members, inside sales, field sales, and customers as appropriate. Lead and own quotations and opportunities by requesting feedback from Sales or directly from customers. Identify project/customer details vital for quotation strategies and assessing strengths/weaknesses. Assist LV & MV Motors team members technically or commercially as needed. Create working instructions, procedures, SOPs, and Customer Specific Guidelines. Participate and lead conference calls and customer visits, with or without sales assistance. Guide the Order Entry team to ensure accurate order configuration. Handle custom project developments for OEMs. Gather customer feedback with limited outside sales support. Perform electrical and mechanical calculations using engineering software. Create technical documentation like datasheets, drawings, and torsional analysis. Evaluate purchasing agreements with the legal team. Support the development of new product lines technically and commercially. Define pricing strategies for special products. Develop technical and sales tools to empower sales teams. Coordinate projects and customer developments, negotiating with relevant departments to ensure timely delivery. Track project pipelines and report status regularly to management. Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals to committees. Education
Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience. Knowledge / Training
Proficient in MS Office applications. Fluent in English, capable of technical communication. Understanding of complex customer specifications. Deep knowledge of industry standards like NEMA MG1, IEEE 841. Advanced in-house application software skills. Experience with SAP and understanding of cost/pricing structures. Knowledge of LV & MV Motor industry, OEMs, EPCs, End Users, market trends, legislation, competitors, and project management. Skills in leading meetings and calculating profitability and ROIC. Ability to demonstrate products and lead presentations. Experience
