Job Summary (Sr. Data Scientist , Columbus OH)
Synthesize and analyze large-scale customer, product, channel, and digital data to generate actionable business insights and recommendations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, IT, Analytics, Fraud, Risk) to evaluate initiatives, measure success, and communicate findings to stakeholders and senior leadership. Develop and maintain intuitive, automated dashboards and data visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Python, and R for performance monitoring and business decision-making. Extract, manipulate, and analyze structured and unstructured data using SQL, Python, R, SAS, and major database technologies (Oracle, DB2, Teradata, Hadoop, etc.). Apply advanced statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining methods to identify trends, patterns, and optimization opportunities. Participate in all phases of the analytics lifecycle, including data capture specification, exploratory data analysis, KPI/metric development, and post-implementation analysis. Create and implement self-service analytics solutions to empower business partners with key metrics, insights, and automated reporting. Contribute to efficiency improvements through process automation and deployment of repeatable analytics assets. Clearly communicate complex analytic concepts and data-driven stories through presentations, reports, and visualizations. Stay current with emerging analytics technologies, best practices, and industry trends, particularly in digital banking and financial services.
Key Skills & Requirements
Proficient in SQL, R, Python, Tableau, and database management systems (Oracle, DB2, Teradata, etc.). Experience with business intelligence, data mining, and machine learning tools. Strong ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact across all organizational levels. Independent and team-oriented work style, able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Educational requirement: Master’s in related STEM field with 3+ years’ experience (or Bachelor’s with 5+ years, or PhD). Experience in banking or financial services is a plus.
