The job duties of the Junior Linux System Administrator include: Tier 1 Service Desk support for ATIP customers via telephone, email, and ticketing system requests to support mission-oriented IT infrastructure. Monitoring Network and Server Infrastructure, performing initial troubleshooting on LAN & WAN data telecommunications equipment, applications, and services. Tier 1 troubleshooting and problem solving using experience, documentation, knowledge bases, and management tools. Serving as liaison between end users/customers and senior technical staff for escalated problems. Processing customer work orders such as enabling network ports, managing licenses, and managing system accounts. Monitoring system performance, including legacy servers and cloud systems. Performing legacy and cloud O&M administration. Resolving legacy server and cloud virtualization issues. Developing and maintaining procedures for new server builds and STIGs. Troubleshooting hardware and software issues with Linux and CentOS servers. Working on Change Requests and Problem tickets. Responding to alerts from monitoring systems. Performing hardware maintenance and repair activities. Requirements
Required Qualifications: Basic understanding of Linux commands. Basic understanding of TCP/IP and related protocols (HTTP, FTP, NFS, etc.). Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and two years of relevant experience, or four years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Must be 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2) by the date of security indoctrination, with necessary continuing education. Additional Details
