Claims & Demurrage Analyst – Energy Trading

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Claims & Demurrage Analyst to work closely with traders and trading operators Role Reporting to the Head of Trading, The Claims & Demurrage Analyst is responsible for preparing and managing demurrage and voyage-related claims in line with charter party and sales contract terms. This includes calculating laytime, analyzing voyage documentation, and ensuring timely submission of claims. The role involves close coordination with shipowners, brokers, and internal teams such as trading, operations, legal, and finance to resolve claims efficiently while minimizing financial exposure. The analyst maintains accurate claim records, tracks statuses, supports risk mitigation by reviewing contract terms, and contributes to financial forecasting through demurrage estimates and post-fixture analysis. Requirements The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Maritime Studies, or a related field, with a minimum with 2 years of experience in demurrage, claims handling, or chartering operations within the oil trading or shipping industry. Candidates should have strong understanding of oil trading operations, charter party contracts, and laytime calculations is essentia.
