New York based real estate company is seeking an attorney to join its legal department to provide legal advice and support the organization, working closely with the General Counsel and senior management.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Review, negotiate and draft leases and lease renewals with residential, professional and commercial tenants and monitor the lease execution process for all leases Supervise the collection of residential and commercial rent arrears including negotiating and drafting settlement documents Supervise non-primary residence proceedings and other tenant related proceedings portfolio wide Review, negotiate and draft access agreements, construction contracts, service contracts and other property operational agreements Advise Property Managers on legal issues and methods for dealing with building issues Monitor and supervise compliance with subpoenas and discovery Supervise legal due diligence review in connection with the acquisition and disposition of property Negotiate a wide variety of real estate related documents including: confidentiality agreements, purchase and sale agreements; agreements with architects, contractors and adjacent property owners and brokerage agreements; office and retail space leases and net leases; management and leasing contracts and service contracts; joint venture agreements and operating agreements Work with the general counsel on a broad range of complex commercial and multi-family real estate transactions Job Requirements:

Must have two to seven years of experience in real estate law and/or landlord/tenant law preferably with a law firm or real estate operator Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Knowledge of New York City rent regulation laws and DHCR procedures is necessary Must be a member of the New York bar Effective verbal and written communication skills are a must

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Compensation: $180,000 - $195,000 Annually
