Kamstrup is a Danish technology company and one of the world’s leading manufacturers of intelligent water metering solutions. We are experiencing significant demand for our products and focused massively on the development and production of intelligent metering equipment and systems for energy and water consumption. Therefore, we are looking for a Vice President of Product Management & Business Development to join the Kamstrup Product Management Team in Cumming, GA to aid Kamstrup’s rapid growth in North America.

As the Vice President of Product Management and Business Development – North American for Kamstrup Water Metering, LLC, you will support execution of yearly business plans and 5-year strategic goals by providing guidance and consultation on market demands, competitive landscape, new business strategies, key customer acquisition, and industry trends working closely with a team of salespeople, leadership peers and supporting teams to secure business with new customers. Additionally, you will direct and oversee all aspects of product life cycle management that meet North American market and user requirements, provide clear guidance on product portfolio needs to meet North American market and customer requirements in close collaboration with global product portfolio management to develop the strategic product roadmap, and implementation and commercialization of new products and enhancements.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain networks in the utility value-chain towards sourcing of new water utility customers - including consultants, engineers, industry experts and various other stakeholders involved in influencing water metering and automation decisions. Build and cultivate new C-level, Director Level, and other influential relationships with new and existing customers. Competently articulate the ideals, solutions, and services of the Kamstrup to the water utility industry towards improving order generation through direct customer engagements, thought leadership, publications, and industry presentations. Liaise with members of staff towards continuous improvement of customer experience in all cases of customer interactions from follow-up to delivery and needs assessment. Support development of highly creative outreach strategies along with sales and marketing leadership in the organization to attract new customers. Support the development of staff of Product Managers and Solution Managers. Help Identify mid-sized through large target accounts, from 30,000 water metering connections and above, to approach and communicate Kamstrup’s capabilities collaboratively with the Sales team. Collaborate with Solutions Managers and Sales teams to craft executive-level proposals, pitches, closing strategies and ROI for Kamstrup products, solutions, and services for prospective and existing customers. Team up with our bids and proposals team to respond to opportunities and sell through RFP responses or negotiated business. Advise Kamstrup North America and global internal teams on industry and vendor trends, deep competitive analysis, and strategy to remain well-positioned to assist our customers now and in the future. Support alliance and ecosystems programs, including assisting with program definitions, oversight, and resources. Help develop, support, and execute the strategic growth vision and objectives, including leading and participating in essential operating rhythms and processes as a member of the North American leadership team and in coordination with global product and strategic business development teams. Lead the product management team towards maintaining product roadmap, release planning and clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes throughout the organization and make the appropriate trade-offs to optimize time to market. Roadmap and product lifecycle management to be executed in close co-operation with global Product Management and the global units of Hardware and Software technology development. Work with cross-functional teams to get buy-in/approval/guidance, including lines of business, operations, finance, supply chain and others. Define, monitor, measure, track and interpret product-related metrics and KPIs to develop concrete points of view on insights to present to leadership and across the organization.

Personal & Professional Qualifications, Competencies And Education

20+ years’ experience in Consulting, Business Development, and/or Product Management in the water utility industry. Bachelor’s degree required, technical or business-related field preferred. MBA is a plus. Experience with a top-tier strategy consulting firm and/or water utility vendor, ideally including multiple projects for customers in the utility technology space and digital transformation projects. Proven successful leadership experience preferred. Keen understanding of the water utility business, including utility operations. Strong organizational, presentation and communication skills are required. Demonstrated ability to be personable, professional, responsive, knowledgeable, credible, trusted and drive value to an organization. Strong working knowledge of the company's products, competitive products, and the market. Adequate technical capabilities to understand product-solutions (water metering, networks, and software) and typical applications in a water utility setting. The ability to quickly build trust and rapport with customers, leaders, and associates at every level. Experience working with international teams is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. Ability to travel up to 75%. Balance of both growth strategy work as well as operational responsibilities including utility digital transformation. Ability to identify and characterize customer business issues, while demonstrating a proficiency to discern what truly delivers value. Scope and plan underlying analyses that will yield critical answers to customer challenges. Understand the required data to complete the analysis and procure them accordingly. Leverage quantitative tools for data analysis and translate findings into meaningful insights and recommendations for water utilities challenges. Excels in client relationships/ communication and possesses the executive presence to influence appropriate senior stakeholders. Engages customers, serves as executive sponsor/driver of key customer relationships, shows commitment to customer success, and possesses an acute awareness and understanding of market trends.
