Plan Review Consultant I

position involves office-based engineering activities related to reviewing standard construction, equipment, occupancy, and protection drawings. Responsibilities include: Reviewing construction, equipment, and fire protection plans according to engineering standards and requirements, identifying deficiencies and potential exposures related to fire, equipment, and natural hazards, and providing recommendations following established guidelines. Understanding the scope of client projects to identify additional review opportunities beyond initial requests. Reviewing previous communications and collaborating with project stakeholders to ensure comprehensive understanding and effective communication. Electronically reviewing project information, collaborating with contractors and clients to address deficiencies, and ensuring timely review completion with minimal rework. Identifying new project opportunities and discussing project viability and next steps with the manager. Providing technical support for client requests as needed. Qualifications include: 4-year college degree in Engineering. Minimum of two years of relevant experience. Ability to read and understand technical, construction, and fire protection drawings and specifications. Experience with CAD software and building information modeling is a plus. Skills required: Project and design experience, preferably in fire protection or construction. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated, eager to learn, results-driven, and a team player. Strong planning, organization, and time management skills.
