About the Role Under general direction, the Software Engineer IV is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications used in Ezurio products. This role requires a deep understanding of software development processes and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Legal authorization to work in the US is required. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our Irvine, CA office. Remote work is not available for this role. Responsibilities Develop and maintain Board Support Packages (BSP), including Linux kernel and bootloader driver integration and development. Perform hardware bring-up for new platforms in close collaboration with the hardware engineering team. Prepare, review, and approve technical documentation, including requirements analysis, design specifications, unit test plans, release notes, and user guides. Collaborate with clients to define system requirements and recommend necessary modifications. Work effectively with internal teams and external business partners to ensure successful project outcomes. Contribute to relevant open-source projects within the embedded ecosystem (e.g., Linux, U-Boot, Yocto). Qualifications Proficiency in low-level programming, particularly in C, with a solid understanding of hardware interfaces and communication buses. Strong grasp of electrical engineering principles; ability to read and interpret schematics. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong multitasking skills. Flexible and adaptable to evolving requirements and project timelines. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and respond effectively to questions. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree. Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in software development, preferably in embedded systems.
