About Our Church Collinsville Baptist Tabernacle is a growing independent Baptist church located just north of Tulsa in Collinsville, Oklahoma. We are a multi-generational congregation dedicated to expository preaching, grace-driven living, and meaningful community engagement. Our worship is intentionally blended—rooted in the rich heritage of traditional hymns while joyfully incorporating newer, doctrinally sound songs. We believe the church should sing with understanding, conviction, and delight. We’re blessed to be able to hire a full-time Music Director who will shepherd this vital ministry, build up a church orchestra, and help our people sing with heart and truth. Position Overview The Music Director will serve as a key leader on our pastoral team, overseeing all aspects of the church’s music ministry. This includes leading congregational worship, developing vocal and instrumental ensembles (including a growing orchestra), discipling musicians, and fostering a worship culture that is both theologically grounded and musically excellent. This is a full-time position, and we are open to incorporating additional pastoral responsibilities based on the candidate’s gifting and calling. Key Responsibilities Plan and lead weekly congregational worship in collaboration with the senior pastor. Blend traditional hymns with newer songs that reinforce sound doctrine and spiritual engagement. Coordinate special music, seasonal programs, and service planning. Direct choir and orchestra rehearsals; build and strengthen participation. Arrange/adapt music for instrumentalists with various skill levels. Recruit and mentor church members with musical potential. Disciple those involved in music ministry both spiritually and relationally. Provide leadership training and mentoring for youth and adults with musical gifts. Serve as an encouraging presence throughout church life and events. Schedule musicians, organize rehearsals, and manage service music Oversee budgeting and planning for music and equipment Maintain music library, licensing, and planning tools (e.g., Planning Center, Finale/Sibelius, etc.) Desired Qualification A clear testimony of personal salvation and a calling to local church ministry Agreement with the doctrinal beliefs and mission of Collinsville Baptist Tabernacle Musical proficiency (vocal and/or instrumental) and the ability to lead congregational singing Experience directing choirs or ensembles and working with a range of musical abilities Strong organization, communication, and leadership skills Formal musical training is preferred; practical experience and pastoral maturity will be strongly considered Bonus Skills (Not Required, but Appreciated Experience arranging music for orchestral settings Ability to coach singers or lead vocal ensembles Familiarity with blended worship formats in Baptist contexts Audio/visual, livestream, or music software proficiency What We Offer Full-time salary and benefits package (commensurate with experience) A growing church with a supportive pastor and unified leadership Freedom to shape and build a thriving music ministry from a solid foundation A congregation that values doctrinal truth—and loves to sing We’re praying for the right person who will lead our church family in worship that glorifies Christ and edifies His people.
