About the HEAL DC Program: HEAL DC - Building Healthy, Empowered, Achieving Leaders for DC is a neighborhood-based life transformation program that provides long-term wraparound care and healing for a cohort of individuals most at risk of involvement in gun violence, in some of DC’s most impacted communities. This program is modeled on successful programs like READI and Chicago CRED, and incorporates Roca’s Rewire Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT). Job Summary: Peace For DC is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled clinically licensed Social Worker or Professional Counselor to provide direct support for our HEAL DC participants- meeting with each individual one-on-one and with the cohort for group work- and work collaboratively as part of a dynamic and caring team. Key Responsibilities: Client Support: Provide direct clinical therapeutic support to HEAL DC participants including weekly 1-1 therapeutic sessions, the development and monitoring of treatment plans, periodic group facilitation, crisis support including limited after hours support, and onsite attendance of weekly life skill groups. Resource Coordination: Provide clinical referrals and linkages to supportive services as necessary. Data Tracking & Confidentiality: Maintain participant metrics and records in accordance with HIPPA regulations. Group Participation: Attend weekly life skill groups (twice weekly, 2 hours during the day and 2 hours during one evening) and provide necessary clinical support to assist participants in managing possible trauma response etc. Crisis Intervention: Respond to urgent situations and provide immediate assistance to participants in crisis. Team Coordination & Communication: Serve as a member of the HEAL DC team, working together to provide each participant with opportunities for personal and professional growth. Coordinate and communicate regularly with the other internal and external HEAL DC team members. Assessments: Conduct diagnostic assessment(s) and biopsychosocial at the start, midpoint and completion of program participation. Rapport Building: Able to build a positive and trusting relationship with each client. Qualifications: Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field. Must be licensed in the District of Columbia and in good standing as an Psychologist/PsyD/LICSW/LCPC/LPC. A minimum of 3 years post licensure experience providing therapeutic support to high risk vulnerable populations.Candidates with experience serving individuals ages 18-24, justice involved youth and/or reentry populations are preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations. Knowledge of Washington, DC’s social services landscape and community resources. Knowledge of challenges that face transition-aged youth in Washington DC, particularly those living in Wards 7 & 8. Commitment to the mission of reducing gun violence and supporting at-risk individuals. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
