Full-Stack Programmer (Systems Programmer I)

This announcement is for a full-time, permanent Full Stack Programmer position in the Office of Information Technology.
This role involves technical programming analysis work, supporting web application development through analysis, design, and programming. There may be opportunities to lead small project teams.
NATURE AND VARIETY OF WORK
Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and enhancing computer operating systems, components, and communications networks; reviewing proprietary software; monitoring programming standards; and evaluating systems and configurations. Work is performed with independence within policies, reviewed by a technical supervisor. Key duties involve preparing applications for processing fiscal, statistical, and related data via web-based software, leading technical staff, collaborating on data processing problem studies, developing systems design and programs, troubleshooting, reviewing programs for accuracy, implementing software solutions, and training staff. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and the public. Knowledge of modern techniques in software implementation, maintenance, and data communications. Skills in analysis, problem-solving, communication, and time management. Ability to operate specialized hardware and software. Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Leadership ability to guide team members. Applicants should have a degree in mathematics, public or business administration, or related fields, with specialized training in electronic data processing, programming, and methodologies, or equivalent work experience in Full Stack Programming or API development. One year of experience in telecommunications, operating systems, and database management is also required. Note: Accreditation recognition and foreign degree documentation are required if applicable. A full background check and valid driver’s license are necessary. The position offers a hybrid work environment with at least two days in-office. Salary is generally within 15% of the range base. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in React.js with Next.js, REST web applications, ArcGIS Esri API, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, AI platforms like Google Gemini and AWS Bedrock, reporting/business intelligence software, and familiarity with local government operations.
