Assistant Medical Director of Infection Prevention
. Washington University is nationally recognized for its leadership in infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, and healthcare epidemiology, with a long-standing commitment to training the next generation of leaders in infectious diseases. Role Overview: The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of faculty, fellows, and staff in advancing healthcare epidemiology and antimicrobial stewardship across WashU’s clinical and academic settings. Responsibilities include: Developing training opportunities in infection prevention Supporting infection prevention for WashU, including its large academic clinical practice group spanning 77 specialties and subspecialties, undergraduate campus, and medical research campus. Collaboration with WashU departments and clinical partners to provide guidance and education related to infection prevention, emerging infectious threats, and outpatient infection control practices. Conducting site visits, delivering training, and engaging with multi-disciplinary teams across both inpatient and outpatient settings. Qualifications: MD or DO with board certification in Infectious Diseases (BC/BE) Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Missouri Experience and/or scholarly contributions in healthcare epidemiology and/or antimicrobial stewardship a plus Application Instructions: Interested applicants should submit: A letter of inquiry Curriculum vitae A statement of prior experience and future plans Three letters of reference Please send materials to: Barbara Trautner, MD, PhD
