Our Client is seeking an experienced Data Architect and Data Modeler to support enterprise-wide modernization and mission-critical initiatives across benefit systems such as enterprise content management, health insurance, and pension systems. This role requires close collaboration with both business and technical stakeholders and is responsible for designing scalable, effective data architectures that align with strategic objectives. This is a long term contract role, 100% remote within the US.
Responsibilities: Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to align data architecture with business goals Translate business strategies into technical data requirements and solutions Design and maintain enterprise data architecture, data flows, and integration models Provide guidance and oversight on data solution designs and implementation Promote and enforce enterprise data standards Lead planning and execution of data integration and migration activities Document architecture, data models, and data flows comprehensively Support data governance to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance Present architecture updates to leadership, highlighting key progress and risks Contribute to the ongoing development of the enterprise data strategy
Focus Areas: Cross-department collaboration Cloud and on-premises data architecture Data lake and transactional data modeling Scalable design aligned with modernization initiatives Enterprise data governance and standards
Qualifications: Minimum 10 years of IT and data experience, including 5+ years in a lead architect role Strong track record of designing data solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience Data architecture and modeling tools (e.g., ERwin Data Modeler) expertise Data flow diagrams and architectural documentation expertise Enforcing data standards and governance expertise Metadata management, data lineage, and MDM expertise Both transactional and modern data platform environments expertise Experience with benefit systems (e.g., pension, insurance, retirement) Familiarity with cloud-based data architecture and analytics platforms Experience with modernization efforts involving multiple vendors Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Strategic mindset focused on leveraging data for business value
