MANDATORY Job Description: US074203-ERD-US-PS-SPD Key Responsibilities: We are seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to ensure the safety and reliability of our client's autonomous robotic systems for vehicle control. The role involves assessing safety risks, supporting the definition of requirements, and implementing measures throughout the product development lifecycle. The lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into design, development, verification, and validation, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
Mandatory Skills and Proficiencies: Promote a culture of safety and compliance organization-wide. Develop functional safety concepts and requirements for autonomous vehicle control systems. Conduct safety analyses such as HARA, STPA, FMEA, and FTA. Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure safety requirements are integrated into designs. Review safety verification and validation activities, including testing and simulation. Ensure compliance with safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508) and regulations. Maintain safety documentation: safety plans, cases, reports. Participate in safety audits and assessments. Provide technical guidance on functional safety. Stay updated with advancements in safety and autonomous vehicle tech.
Optional Skills and Proficiencies: Bachelors in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Science, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CFSE, CFSP, AFSP, Functional Safety Engineer). 3-5 years in functional safety engineering, preferably in robotics, automotive, machinery, or agriculture. Experience with standards like UL 4600, ISO 26262, ISO 13849, IEC 61508. Understanding of safety standards and regulations for certified products. Proficiency in safety analysis methods (HARA, STPA, FMEA, FTA). Design and analyze safety-critical systems. Project management skills for multiple safety projects. Analytical skills for safety data and risk assessments. Leadership skills to guide teams and influence stakeholders. Ability to communicate safety analyses and reports effectively.
