We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Paralegal to join our remote team and play a critical role in our most significant cases.
Position Summary
The Senior Paralegal will provide comprehensive litigation support on all phases of our employment and consumer class action caseload, from case inception and investigation through discovery, class certification, settlement, and trial. The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented professional with substantial experience in complex litigation, particularly class actions in state and federal court. Working with a high degree of autonomy, this individual will manage large volumes of data and documents, serve as a key point of contact for class members, and provide essential support to our attorneys.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Case Management: Manage the full lifecycle of class action cases, including maintaining the case calendar, tracking deadlines, and organizing electronic case files in our document management system. Discovery: Draft and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and requests for admission. Oversee and conduct large-scale document reviews and analysis using e-discovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, Concordance). Prepare for and summarize depositions, including creating witness files and exhibit lists. Draft and issue subpoenas for records and testimony. Class Certification: Assist attorneys in drafting motions for class certification and other key pleadings. Collect, organize, and analyze data related to putative class members. Draft and manage declarations from clients and putative class members. Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for class members, handling inquiries with professionalism and compassion, and providing case updates. Legal Research & Writing: Conduct factual research and preliminary legal research. Cite-check, bluebook, and proofread complex legal briefs, motions, and other court filings. Settlement & Trial Preparation: Assist with the administration of class action settlements, including calculating potential damages, preparing notice documents, and managing communications with claims administrators. Prepare for trial by organizing exhibits, managing witness lists, and assisting with the preparation of trial binders and demonstratives.
Required
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 7+ years of paralegal experience in a litigation-focused role. Minimum of 3+ years of direct experience in employment and/or consumer law and class action litigation. Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent combination of education and experience. Deep understanding of Washington State and Federal court rules, civil procedure, and e-discovery processes. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Hands-on experience with case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase) and e-discovery platforms. Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to work independently, proactively, and effectively in a fully remote environment. Must be a resident of Washington State.
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree. Specific experience with plaintiff-side employment class actions is highly desirable. Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis related to class member information and damages modeling. Experience with the administration of class action settlements.
Compensation & Benefits
In compliance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, the expected hourly pay range for this position is
$38.00 - $45.00 per hour . The final rate will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skill set.
