Your Role We are seeking a Senior Technical Designer to join an exciting, large-scale, mixed-use (including: commercial, residential, cultural, transit, retail, entertainment, hospitality, education, etc.) international project, offering the opportunity to be an integrated and active member of a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, working alongside multiple Gensler offices. This role will sit in the Chicago office. What You Will Do Develop all phases of projects, including programming, consulting, strategy, conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production
Manage client, team and project coordination, including full documentation preparation and discipline coordination with structural, MEP, VT, lighting, AV, landscape and civil consultants
Support daily communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials
Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions, including design resiliency expertise to resolve complex technical and design challenges
Develop and maintain project documentation, including drawings, project manuals and specifications
Conduct and document site visits, prepare field reports, process submittals, substitution requests, and RFI’s during construction
Your Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Master's degree preferred
10+ years of related project experience, with a track record of successfully leading projects of varying scale
LEED accreditation a plus
International design experience a plus
Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple projects in various stages of development
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Outstanding graphic presentation skills
Proficiency in Revit, Rhinoceros, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office.
The base salary range is $90,000 to $116,000, commensurate with relevant experience. In addition, standard benefits will be offered, and employees will be eligible for bonuses.
