Essential Functions
Serve as an advisor on contracts, proposals, and other designated processes, providing expert review and guidance for the production of Proposal/Contracts Group deliverables, such as proposals, contracts, and change orders.
Coordinate internal efforts related to RFPs and RFIs, ensuring timely and accurate responses by collaborating with cross-functional teams including Sales, Legal, Finance, and Operations.
Lead the development of proposal content and storyboarding, aligning messaging with strategic objectives and ensuring consistency, clarity, and compliance across all submissions.
Develop relationships with assigned customers and ensure high-quality deliverables and customer service by overseeing the accurate and timely production of information regarding contracts, change orders, and pricing.
Support internal pricing strategy development by coordinating with Finance and Sales teams to ensure accurate, competitive, and compliant pricing in proposals and change orders.
Develop and negotiate change orders and drive the change order process to maximize profit on each contract and ensure timely revenue recognition.
Act as the key customer interface for assigned customers, ensuring consistency in approach, metrics, and format, and serve as an escalation point to resolve issues.
Contribute to discussions on the implementation of Contracts and Proposals strategy on a global basis.
Ensure team adherence to global processes to deliver quality products to customers.
Develop and implement processes focused on increasing customer satisfaction and creating efficiencies while maintaining consistency among all teams.
Provide direction and strategy on projects and initiatives with minimal oversight.
Maintain focus and actively work toward attainment of all corporate goals (including revenue, sales, and employee retention) and implement strategies to achieve these goals.
May take a leading role in developing and negotiating Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
Negotiate contractual documents, in consultation with Legal and/or Finance, as required.
Provide regular updates to management regarding pending Contracts deliverables.
Participate in bid defenses, customer meetings, and task forces.
Provide advice, support, and guidance as needed, and serve as a mentor to colleagues.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive training curriculum to support the sales team, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate contracts, proposals, pricing, and change order processes effectively.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Life Science, Business Management, or a related field, with 12 years of experience in Contracts or Proposals, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of the CRO Industry.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and understanding of costing models.
Strong understanding of contract, proposals, and budget processes, with the ability to interpret budgets and protocols.
Possess strong analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and customers.
