Duties as the Environmental Project Manager

As the Environmental Project Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact between the laboratory team and clients, overseeing project conduct to ensure proactive communication, timely updates, and strong client relationships, under the direction of the Client Services Manager. Main duties include, but are not limited to: Ensure accurate, timely, and efficient execution of analyses and project activities - including sample intake, sample analysis, and final reporting - in accordance with SOPs, quotes, and budget requirements. Participate in sample intake and client education, ensuring clear understanding of testing procedures and expectations. Monitor project progress to ensure all deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and on budget; identify and implement corrective actions as needed and escalate issues to management or site leadership when deviations occur. Report client data to state regulatory authorities and maintain complete, accurate, and inspection-ready client files in compliance with applicable regulations. Collaborate with Quality Assurance during audits, present results, and support timely resolution of any corrective actions assigned to Project Managers. Partner with the Sales team during the bid process to secure repeat and long-term business opportunities. Lead and support multiple concurrent projects in a competitive, fast-paced environment while upholding high laboratory standards and data quality under tight deadlines. Assist with departmental initiatives and special projects as needed. Demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to manage detailed tasks and perform additional administrative duties as assigned by the Client Services Manager.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship; possess a combination of strong communication, organization, and computer skills; and hold Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent years of experience in project management.

(Must be 21 years or older due to regulatory requirements.)

Other qualifications include: Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in a laboratory environment; Background in environmental project management, science, customer service or accounting, and/or experience working within a regulated industry is a plus. 3 - 5 years successfully interacting with clients and/or the public on a routine basis. Experience with invoicing, accounting, using a multi-line phone system, and intermediate MS Office knowledge- especially excel! Possess excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills; Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, ability to lift up to 15 pounds (most work is completed at a desk), and work both independently and within a team. Self-motivated, adaptable, with a positive attitude, and flexibility to perform duties in other areas if needed.

Position & Schedule

This is a Full-Time position, and the standard schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30AM - 5:00PM, onsite at Columbia Laboratories in Portland, Oregon.
