: Reporting to the Director of Conference Services, the Conference Center Coordinator assists in the operations, logistical planning, set up and tear down of events in the Conference Center, including supervision of part-time and student staff. This position ensures audio/visual requests are met for each event, and each room configuration is set as planned. The coordinator serves as the staff on-site during Conference Center evening and weekend events, and provides prompt and professional customer service, assists clients and guests, and supports the ongoing operations of the Conference Center. The working schedule for this full-time position includes evenings, weekends and occasional holidays. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

: Assist the Director and Associate Director in day-to-day Conference Center operations.

Serve as the primary contact for all AV requests.

Provide technical and logistical event support during non-traditional hours such as late nights and weekends within the Conference Center.

Assist in recruiting, training, scheduling and supervising subordinate staff, including developing work operations and performance standards, writing performance evaluations and recommending personnel actions

Evaluate program performance and develops alternative methods to improve performance and meet established objectives.

Assist staff with maintenance, set up and tear down of the Conference Center ballroom

Participate in planning meeting with internal stakeholders to prepare and review 30/60/90-day events. Participates in post-event evaluation meetings, and recommends improvements based on feedback.

Provide customer service, responds to inquiries, and assists with the overall operations of the Conference Center.

Use and maintain software to provide necessary services and information to clients and staff.

Maintain integrity and appropriate confidentiality in university and program operations.

Represent the University at conferences, seminars or meetings as required. Engages in professional development. Serve on ad hoc and standing committees as required.

Understand the needs of diverse populations and effectively serves students and guests with an inclusive approach.

Compile and summarize statistical data for the Director.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

: REQUIRED

: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Minimum two (2) years professional experience in an institution of higher education or related field.

Outstanding interpersonal communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external clients.

Strong knowledge of complex AV systems, with an ability to troubleshoot issues in an effective and precise manner.

Ability to lift banquet tables, chairs, staging and other equipment associated with large conference events.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays and official school closing days.

PREFERRED

: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Student Development, Educational Leadership, Hospitality Management or related field.

Knowledge of Crestron Audio/Visual, and Dante network audio platform.

Experience using 25Live and Social Tables or other event planning software.

Experience in large scale event management within a higher education environment.
