The Application Engineer - Motors is the primary technical resource for all orders concerning low voltage motors and is responsible for actively managing the technical aspects of the order process.
Primary Responsibilities:
Communicate effectively with Field Sales, Customers, engineering group, and factories.
Prepare accurate proposals for WEG products, reviewing specifications and communications.
Provide technical and commercial training to team members, inside sales, field sales, and customers.
Lead and own quotations and opportunities, seeking feedback from Sales or customers.
Identify project/customer details for quotation strategies and competitive analysis.
Assist LV & MV Motors team members technically or commercially as needed.
Create operational instructions, SOPs, and customer-specific guidelines.
Participate in and lead customer calls and visits.
Guide Order Entry to ensure correct order configurations.
Gather customer feedback directly, with limited outside sales support.
Perform electrical and mechanical calculations using engineering software.
Develop technical documentation such as datasheets, drawings, and analyses.
Evaluate purchasing agreements with legal team.
Support new product development technically and commercially.
Define pricing strategies for special products.
Develop technical and sales tools to empower sales teams.
Coordinate projects and customer developments, negotiating with relevant departments.
Track project pipelines and report status regularly to management.
Create and present technical and commercial proposals to committees.
Education: (minimum education or equivalent experience)
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or related field.
Knowledge / training:
Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Fluent in English, with the ability to read, speak, and write technical language.
Understand complex customer specifications.
Deep knowledge of standards like NEMA MG1, IEEE 841.
Advanced skills in in-house application programs and SAP.
Understanding of cost and pricing structures.
Advanced knowledge of LV & MV motor industry standards and applications.
Understanding of OEMs, EPCs, and end users.
Knowledge of industry trends, legislation, and competition.
Deep understanding of WEG motor products and project management.
Experience:
At least 3 years of relevant experience, or 7 years with LV/MV motors.
