AWS Engineer Location: On-site at Lackland AFB - San Antonio, TX Clearance: Active TS clearance required with ability to obtain SCI Duration: Initial 60 days with potential of renewal Compensation: $55/hr - $65/hr annually (W2), paid hourly Why MTS? Position Overview: We are seeking an AWS Engineer with experience supporting high-security environments. You will be responsible for architecting, managing, and securing AWS cloud infrastructure to support mission-critical workloads in a DoD setting. This is a rare opportunity to support a long-standing federal contract in a cleared environment, with the potential for long-term engagement and impact. Responsibilities: Operate and manage AWS workloads and Kubernetes (EKS) environments Lead maintenance operations including patching, STIG compliance, and infrastructure upgrades Provide SME-level AWS support to development and testing teams Implement cloud-native and containerized systems leveraging tools such as Diode, Lambda, and Red Hat platforms Support documentation, security controls, and operational improvement initiatives Collaborate with government and contractor personnel on technical direction and architecture Required Qualifications: Active Top Secret clearance, eligible for SCI Bachelor's degree (Master's may substitute for 2 years of experience) 10+ years IT systems administration experience on Microsoft and Linux platforms Proficient in AWS CLI and AWS Management Console Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected Framework, networking, and security practices Preferred Skills: Experience with Palo Alto and other SIEM integrations Hands-on with Amazon EKS, Diode, Lambda, and Kubernetes orchestration in cloud environments Applied experience with containerized platforms in high-compliance environments Certifications (2 or more of the following preferred): AWS Cloud Practitioner AWS SysOps Administrator CKA / KCNA RHCE / RH294 Kubernetes or Red Hat equivalents #J-18808-Ljbffr
