As a Senior Business Intelligence Developer specializing in Power BI, you will play a central role in driving data visualization strategies that enhance decision-making across the organization. Youll design and deliver scalable, interactive dashboards that transform complex data into meaningful insights. Working closely with stakeholders, engineers, and cross-functional teams, youll help build a culture rooted in data-driven thinking. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact analytics initiatives in a collaborative, innovative environment. Candidates must be located within commuting distance of either the Greater Cincinnati region or Kansas City, MO. Accountabilities Design, build, and optimize highly interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to support business decision-making. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into impactful visual solutions. Apply industry best practices to ensure high-quality, scalable, and consistent analytics deliverables. Work with data engineers to refine data structures and incorporate evolving reporting requirements. Use advanced DAX and SQL to create efficient data models and perform role-level security implementation. Leverage tools such as Power BI Report Builder, Tabular Editor, ALM Toolkit, and DAX Studio to enhance reporting capabilities. Train business users on data visualization principles and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solution adoption. Stay current with Power BI developments and contribute innovative ideas to improve analytics offerings. Participate in design reviews and cross-team collaboration to shape the companys data-driven strategies. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree. Minimum of 5 years' experience in BI development, with at least 3 years of hands-on Power BI expertise. Strong command of Power BI Desktop, Service, Report Builder, Tabular Editor, and DAX Studio. Proficient in advanced DAX and SQL queries with experience in implementing security models. Knowledge of data modeling techniques (star, snowflake, normalized schemas) and performance tuning. Familiarity with Power BI Embedded, REST APIs, and Premium features. Preferred experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, and Data Lake Storage. Understanding of visual design principles, user-centered design, and dashboard storytelling. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Microsoft Certified Data Analyst or similar certification is a plus. Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed. Competitive compensation package.
