Head of
Marketing
to help shape the voice, presence, and growth of our franchise from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven startup team at the intersection of women’s sports, community empowerment, and professional (American) football. As we build our foundation, the Head of Marketing will play a key role in bringing our brand to life across digital platforms, grassroots activations, and game day experiences. Responsibilities: Brand Strategy:
Develop and execute a cohesive brand and marketing strategy aligned with the Storm’s values and mission to empower women and grow the game. Digital Content:
Lead content planning, creation, and publishing across social media, email marketing, and website. Collaborate with graphic designers, photographers, and media partners. Fan Engagement:
Build campaigns and activations that grow our following, spark engagement, and create meaningful connections with local fans, youth programs, and the larger Bay Area community. Sponsorship Marketing:
Support partner activations and deliverables by aligning brand storytelling with sponsor objectives. Programming Promotion:
Market community, flag football, and game day events to increase awareness, registration, and attendance. Analytics & Growth:
Track performance across channels, evaluate insights, and optimize campaigns to meet growth goals. Conditions of Work
: The Marketing Lead role should remain poised in public speaking, with the ability to think critically and confidently under various circumstances. This is a part time position requiring 5-10 hours of work per week in the off season, and 10-15 hours per week during the season. There are no requirements for hours worked - the individual will determine what is needed. This is a contract, at-will position. The role/position could receive a negotiable amount of stipend or bonus as compensation. Compensation will be reviewed annually based on overall franchise revenue/profit. Ideal Qualifications College Degree in Business with Focus/Specialization in Marketing, Communications or Advertising (MBA preferred) Minimum of 5 years experience in a marketing related field (ideally more) Experience with Professional sports organization(s) Understanding of a start-up business environment and ability to effectively operate within it Passion for women’s sports and a commitment to building opportunity and equity through football Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Must be located in or willing to travel to Northern California regularly (priority given to local candidates) About the WNFC The Women's National Football Conference is the premier women’s football (American) league in the U.S., featuring the highest level of competition and visibility in the sport.
