move! Primary Duties: Technical/Environmental Duties: Cleans all assigned areas

in accordance with

standards of cleanliness and highest quality of cleaning excellence. Polishes assigned floor surface areas by

operating

electric washing, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and polishing equipment, making manual adjustments to

attain

optimal

results. Performs other duties as

required

, such as cleaning light fixtures, wall vents, furniture, walls, conference room set-ups, and moving furniture. Completes carpet care such as spot cleaning, vacuuming, and scrubbing. Maintains cleaning equipment and

assists

in repair troubleshooting as needed. Empty trash and hazardous waste. Deposits are refused in specified collection areas, following waste procedures. Makes

timely

rounds and always follows universal precautions.

Assists

with spill chemical and other hazardous waste clean-up according to policy. Uses 7 step cleaning process for all patient areas. This includes vacuuming, dusting, washing, sweeping, mopping of restrooms, beds, furniture,

equipment,

and open areas. Cleans specialized areas such as isolation and surgical areas to

highest

standards according to procedures. Observes safety and infection control precautions in cleaning of assigned areas. Performs discharge cleaning for all patient discharges, following department procedure and policies as needed

Customer Service: Provides services to patients, staff, and families as needed. Introduces self to patients and visitors

Checks

in with patients before leaving room

Answers

and responds to patient, visitor, and staff requests.

Greets

patients and visitors arriving

on

the unit. Approach, greet and offer

assistance

and direction to patients, family members, physicians and others who may need

help in

finding their way.

Development:

Participates

with supervisors in

identifying

learning needs. When learning needs are

identified

,

participates

in training and development activities. Attends hospital sponsored training programs as required by the department. Meets all mandatory obligations.

Organizational knowledge: Works effectively within and between departments. Participates in departmental projects Participates in interdepartmental activities when asked. Demonstrates a constructive approach during all interactions with staff, supervisors, and managers both inside and outside the unit. Communicates with

supervisor

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED

.

1-2 years' experience in housekeeping.

Experience in floor care/projects preferred.

Experience in medical, hospital or institutional experience preferred.

This position has a hiring range of $17.5 - $28.73
