Individuals employed by Amynta Surety Solutions who hold this position are responsible for successfully executing their responsibilities related to the US Surety business line, including but not limited to:
Providing underwriting leadership and oversight of assigned offices/geography/underwriters.
Providing leadership and strategic direction to assigned offices/geography/underwriters.
Driving a culture of ownership regarding production, underwriting, and portfolio management within the assigned areas.
Managing the portfolio of exposures associated with the assigned offices/geography/underwriters at a macro level.
Meeting or exceeding financial goals.
Traveling as needed for underwriting purposes.
The role requires knowledge in target industry sectors including but not limited to: Renewable Energy, Healthcare, Public Utilities, Industrials, Technology, Manufacturing, Transportation, Waste Services, Insurance, and Financial Services.
Responsibilities include:
Reviewing, negotiating, and deciding on submitted business (accounts, bonds) from the assigned offices/underwriters, and collaborating with the Executive Vice President for approvals beyond your authority.
Approving and extending account-level field authority via the ALOC process.
Adhering to Amynta’s AUP and PPD standards regarding underwriting, pricing, file maintenance, and account monitoring.
Monitoring the portfolio proactively to ensure information is current and responding to deteriorating account conditions or unmet terms.
Leading critical account discussions during Surety Portfolio Reviews and managing post-review remedial actions.
Overseeing submission of opportunities requiring Global Head’s approval.
Collaborating with territorial staff to ensure quality submissions and recommendations.
Ensuring proper documentation and data management in EFC, ABS, and Capital IQ systems.
Supporting market associations and attending key events as agreed.
Providing broker and client-facing underwriting support through visits.
Communicating with territorial staff on issues impacting the territory.
Working with SVP Field Operations on support needs, performance goals, and staff reviews.
Contributing to departmental initiatives and supporting underwriting staff with current, accurate information.
Reviewing control reports for data accuracy, including bond booking, account listings, and Watch List management.
Reporting material account deterioration or claims immediately to the EVP.
Managing outcomes related to workouts, defaults, and bankruptcies, collaborating with claims and underwriting teams to mitigate exposures.
Supporting team objectives and traveling extensively as needed.
