Job Description Tasks and Responsibilities
Perform monthly closing activities in PeopleSoft, including transaction processing, troubleshooting, and executing related processes such as allocations.
Develop, implement, and maintain allocation methodologies and documentation for charges to subsidiaries and affiliates.
Prepare and review journal entries for accuracy, completeness, and validity according to company policies.
Perform and review reconciliations, addressing discrepancies as needed.
Conduct periodic due diligence analysis to interpret variances and identify misstatements in financial results.
Assist in the preparation and review of external and internal reports under GAAP, FERC, or company formats.
Analyze and implement changes for new accounting pronouncements and regulatory orders.
Coordinate with auditors during reviews and audits.
Prepare initial rate case data and respond to data requests from commissions.
Recommend, document, and implement policies, procedures, and process improvements.
Lead in preparing complex journal entries, including eliminations and consolidations.
Establish and improve processes, documentation, policies, and systems.
Collaborate with departments and external vendors on accounting matters.
Perform other special projects as assigned by the Corporate Accounting Manager.
