Controls Mobile Engineer Job Description
Overview: Are you a Controls Engineer with expertise in Allen-Bradley PLC systems and a passion for maintaining cutting-edge automated material handling solutions? Do you thrive in dynamic environments where you can work both remotely and on-site? If so, we invite you to join our North American Service Center (NASC) team! This role involves ensuring system reliability and efficiency through troubleshooting, incident management, and performance optimization. The first year will include significant project work, requiring travel and extended periods away from home. Responsibilities: Diagnose and resolve complex incidents related to automated material handling systems to minimize downtime. Maintain, repair, modify, and commission Allen-Bradley PLC systems. Troubleshoot and optimize network communications such as Profibus, ASI bus, Profinet, and TCP/IP. Analyze log data proactively to identify potential system issues. Work with IT systems relevant to industrial automation. Provide technical support with a focus on electromechanical and networking systems, especially Allen-Bradley PLCs. Offer on-site support during troubleshooting, commissioning, and system maintenance. Maintain accurate incident documentation and escalate issues when necessary. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. At least 3 years of experience with controls technology and Allen-Bradley PLC systems. Hands-on experience with controls and PLCs. Strong knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs and industrial networking systems. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Willingness to travel up to 70% across North America, with occasional international training opportunities. Work Environment: This is a full-time role within a dynamic call center and field environment, requiring site inspections and travel. About Us
