The Security Manager will work closely with Brown University DPS to manage and oversee the security of Brown RISD Hillel, ensuring that personnel and assets are protected from threats. To view the full job posting and apply, go to: https://brown.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/staff-careers-brown/job/75-Charlesfield-Street/Security-Manager_REQ204295-1 Major Responsibilities Security Operations Management — Oversee daily security operations, monitor security systems (CCTV, alarms), manage personnel and contractors, enforce entry procedures and access control, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Policy, Communication & Incident Response — Serve as the primary contact for security matters, develop and maintain security policies, attend briefings, and provide updates to Hillel and DPS leadership. Respond to incidents, conduct drills and audits, and ensure incidents are documented and reported. Day-to-Day Facility Security & Engagement — Be the main security presence at the facility, greet and monitor visitors, inspect packages, conduct routine facility inspections, and report building issues. Foster a visible, trustworthy security presence. Job Qualifications Ability to be a calm, steady presence in a dynamic environment; strong interpersonal skills to build trust with students, staff, and community members. Proactive and strategic mindset toward campus safety with excellent observational skills and sound judgment in high-pressure situations. Collaborative spirit; ability to partner with Brown's Department of Public Safety (DPS), university administration, and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive safety approach. Familiarity with or willingness to learn the culture of Jewish life in a pluralistic Hillel environment. Organizational and technical proficiency; comfortable using and monitoring security technology (CCTV, alarms, access control) with strong recordkeeping. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for events or emergencies. Education And Experience Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Security Management, or Public Administration with four to six years of security or law enforcement-related experience, including managing daily operations, personnel, and vendors.
