District Primary Purpose:
To assist and promote La Joya ISD in implementing a rigorous curriculum/instructional program that supports student success and achievement.
Primary Purpose:
To manage and coordinate the functions and operations of the Office of Information Technology and provide support and assistance to all departments and campuses in the district.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma; College hours preferred; Educational Secretary Certificate from TEA
Minimum of 5 years secretarial experience
Experience/Knowledge:
Two years of post-secondary schooling or graduation from a recognized school of secretarial skills and five years of job experience as a secretary. Considerable knowledge of principles of office management; departmental rules, regulations, procedures, and functions; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Proficient in office equipment, including computers, calculators, and software. Skills in business-letter preparation and report writing. Effective communication and leadership skills. Interpersonal skills. Commitment to professional growth.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Handle sensitive information, personnel matters, and district communications with discretion and confidentiality.
Draft, type, and distribute correspondence on behalf of the Chief Technology Officer.
Manage department filing systems, including evaluations and essential documents.
Act as liaison within the department, conveying announcements and updates.
Attend meetings, take notes, and ensure follow-up on action items.
Process and organize departmental mail.
Generate and distribute materials as instructed.
Respond professionally to calls and emails, representing the CTO's office.
Support calendar management and coordinate meetings and events.
Archive meeting notes and documents.
Promote a positive environment through teamwork and communication.
Manage databases, records, and information systems.
Coordinate with IT support teams for requests.
Facilitate meetings scheduled by the CIO.
Manage office supplies and inventory.
Assist with district-wide incentives, budget input, and staff timesheets.
Handle travel requests and reimbursements.
Support receptionist duties as needed.
Perform additional tasks as directed by the CIO.
Assist in creating presentations and reports for meetings.
